Bangladesh Student Association Receives Outstanding Graduate Student Organization Award

The Bangladesh Student Association (BSA) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has been honored with the prestigious Outstanding Graduate Student Organization Award for 2025, recognizing their exceptional contributions to campus life and academic community.

The award was presented during the Graduate Student Senate (GSS) Appreciation Brunch held on April 7 at the Student Union. GSS President Iyanuoluwa Oyetunji and Vice President Shokoufeh Soleimani presented the honor as part of the opening ceremony for Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week (GPSAW), which runs from April 7 to April 11 across the UT campus.

Alzinuzzaman Khan, Mohammad Rahanur Alam, Ershadul Haque, Sazzadul Saykat, and Tanjida Islam accepted the award on behalf of the organization.

The Bangladesh Student Association earned this recognition through their dedicated efforts in community building, cultural celebration, and academic support for Bangladeshi and international graduate students. Their initiatives have made significant contributions to fostering inclusivity, cultural diversity, and student engagement throughout the university.

The Outstanding Graduate Student Organization Award, presented annually by the Graduate Student Senate, celebrates graduate and professional student organizations that have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to enhancing graduate student life and supporting their academic departments.

Through their programming and community service, the BSA has established itself as a vital presence on campus, creating connections and opportunities for cross-cultural understanding at the University of Tennessee.
